THE COMPANY

It all began in 1840, when François Tiollier bought a property planted with vines and fruit trees and built the family home, giving this magnificent place a name: Domaine de l’Idylle. A few generations later Henriette and AndrĂ© Tiollier began bottling wine, the first in the valley, true pioneers in the development of native grape varieties. In 1975, Philippe and then François Tiollier joined the company, specializing in viticulture and growing the size of the vineyard from 10 to 20 hectares. Finally, in 2011, Sylvain Tiollier, having completed his training as a winemaker took the reins of the winery and, thanks to his experiences around the world, brought a touch of contemporary know-how to Domaine de l’Idylle. Passionate about his region, he believes the mountain climate lends finesse and balance to his Savoy wines. The Domaine’s vineyards lie on mountain terroirs consisting of clay-limestone scree, considered among the best in the region. These temperature differences improve grape ripening and keep acidity levels high. Independent winemakers and vineyard in organic conversion: Domaine de l’Idylle is at the forefront of environmental respect by producing through local grape varieties true and sincere expressions of Savoie.
