THE COMPANY

At the crossroads between the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, the epic story of Maison Mandois has unfolded since 1735. Located in Pierry, a Premier Cru village, the Maison is now run by the ninth generation of the family. Claude Mandois is following in the footsteps of his ancestors and, as early as the beginning of the 2000s, committed himself to nature-friendly viticulture. In 2017, the conversion began, and today the 23 hectares closest to Pierry are certified organic. The Mandois vineyard (37 hectares) consists of 70 per cent Chardonnay, the very essence of the House’s cuvées, ensuring the House complete self-sufficiency in the supply of this grape variety. Claude Mandois selects the finest plots of Pinot Noir and Meunier to complement and refine his blends. At Maison Mandois, the winemaker’s spirit is evident at every stage, from the vineyard to the cellar. Each cuvée bears witness to a deep attachment to the land and to tradition. Champagne Mandois has therefore chosen to diversify its winemaking vessels considerably. Whilst the art of blending remains the pride of Champagne, Claude Mandois is committed to preserving the authenticity of each terroir by providing his wines with specific vinification and ageing conditions, which allow them to retain their aromatic diversity and enrich the blending process.
