THE COMPANY

Domaine Boillot was founded in Volnay in the early 20th century by Henri Boillot who was succeeded by his son Jean. In 1975 it was the turn of Henri, grandson of the founder, who after working alongside his father became in charge of the Domaine, molding it to himself. In 1995 the negoçe business was started while in 2000 the new Meursault winery was established. Guillaume, Henri’s son, joined the Domaine in 2008 and has been in charge of viticulture and winemaking since 2012, managing the Domaine-with the help of his father, since 2018. Hallmarks: passion and precision! The creation of a great wine starts with the vine, and dedicated care and constant attention are needed at every stage of growth, right from winter pruning. Throughout the year, maximum attention is devoted to the vineyard with limited intervention and access. Attuning vines to the environment is essential; recently, Guillaume has focused on finding ways to help them resist climate change. Every step in the winemaking process is important, but the inherent quality of wines always depends on the care with which each individual vine is treated. Terroir, variety and climate: in short, high standards and hard work. The reds are characterized by structure, elegance, length, finesse and subtlety of tannin while the whites by precision, purity, elegance, energy, minerality, texture and freshness. Two colors, one style: Domaine Henri Boillot highlights both its terroirs and the distinct personality of its winemakers-two essential ingredients for complex, charismatic wines that are absolute landmarks of Burgundy.
