THE COMPANY

The Domaine Gilles Guerrin is located in Vergisson, in the heart of the MĂ¢connais region. This small village is nestled between the famous limestone rocks of Vergisson and SolutrĂ©. Gilles Guerrin and his wife Sylvie settled here in 1984, where they now cultivate 13.5 hectares across four appellations using sustainable viticulture methods: MĂ¢con-Charnay-Les-MĂ¢con, MĂ¢con-Vergisson, Saint-VĂ©ran and Pouilly-FuissĂ©. In July 2017, one of their daughters, Blandine, joined them, ensuring the continuity of the Domaine, which operates by reducing interventions in the vineyard and working the soil more frequently, allowing it to produce authentic wines that fully represent the MĂ¢connais area.

MĂ¢connais

The town of Macon on the Saone, 55 km from Chalon, gives its name to a broad, undulating rural area whose wines vary in quality but are now making rapid progress. Thanks to its characteristic limestone subsoil, covered on the surface by a clay or alluvial layer, Maconnais is a suitable area for white wine, which in fact produces three times as much as the rest of Burgundy. The slightly warmer climate than that of the Cote d'Or is suitable for the chardonnay grape, from which nearly two-thirds of the wine produced in Maconnais comes.
