THE COMPANY

Built in 1800 by the Duke of Westphalia on the foundations of a castle from 1200, today Schloss-Reinhartshausen consists of 15 different vineyards planted both on the banks of the Rhine and on the small island of Mariannenaue. The company is now the largest privately owned property in the whole Rheingau, where centuries of experience and tradition are combined with the use of the most modern winemaking techniques. Schloss wines offers a complete overview of the production of Rheingau: from the vinification through the classic method of Sekt, continuing to the Trocken, fresh wine ready to drink, up to the complexity of the Grosse Gewachs that with time exalts the minerality of this unique terroir, main player of German enology. A historic but up-to-date company, a perfect Rheingau icon.
